Yamaguchi Tamon is a former Japanese Rear Admiral (posthumosly Vice Admiral) and the commander of the Second Carrier Division of the First Air Fleet during World War II.

In Chapter 19, the Gun Bidden Trade Federation attackers of the Orte's fleet shout "TORA TORA TORA" as they are victorious, their leader claiming "the admiral" told them to do that. It would suggest that the famous Japanese admiral is present in the manga.
In Chapter 46, he is confirmed appeared as Drifter along with his badly-damaged aircraft carrier "Hiryuu" which is now beached on a small rocky island. He served as a Special Guest for the United Merchant Guild's Gubinnen. He introduced his modern naval innovations and strategies to the merchant nation which helped them defeated the Orte Empire and took control of the sea. Despite being the only surviving crewmember of the Hiryuu to have appeared so far, he was still considered to be a dangerous person by the Gubinnen rulers who were sought for Hiryuu's treasure trove of technologies and weapons.
Later, he reunited with a fellow Imperial comrade and Drifter, Naoshi Kanno.
