Nasu Suketaka Yoichi (also called Nasu no Yoichi) is a very effeminate man of age nineteen. Although he died many years before Nobunaga and Toyohisa, Yoichi is the youngest in the group. His historical death date is unclear, yet some records indicate that he either died on August 8 in 1189 or in October of 1190. Historically he is known as a powerful warrior who served Minamoto no Yoshitsune during the Genpei War, and he also appears in the Tale of the Heike. However, Nobunaga notes that Yoichi is very different from historical accounts. Yoichi is the group's archer and, much like he did while under the command of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, kills fleeing enemies.
Yoichi has told of his family multiple times in both the manga and anime, he tells in a flashback of him having ten brothers, Yoichi being the eleventh and youngest, Yoichi also said he was the ugliest out of them.
Yoichi seems to become more talkative when consuming alcohol, he talks of his servitude under the Minamoto Clan.
Yoichi is a tall man, with long black hair, which is sometimes shown as blue, and a slim, incredibly feminine figure. He was first perceived by Toyohisa as a woman due to said femininity. His clothing mainly consists of traditional Japanese samurai warrior attire with a full body blue garb paired with a white sash tied around his waist, and a green ribbon in his hair. He wears sandals with long white socks.
Being an archer Yoichi's arms are adorned with traditional protective armor and he is seen carrying a bow and arrow.
Yoichi has a caring personality, as he cares about others. Yoichi has also been shown to doubt himself and shows small signs of depression and self doubt, based upon this phrase from both the manga and the anime, "I am the youngest of the Nasu Clan and I am the ugliest."
Yoichi suffers from PTSD as a result of the Genpei War. His normally calm and playful demeanor quickly vanishes when confronted by memories of his former lord, Minamoto Yoshitsune, who committed multiple war atrocities during Yoichi's time serving him, leading to a crisis of honor for the loyal retainer. Flashbacks to these traumatic thoughts often leave Yoichi shaken and less sure of himself, even while actively engaged in combat, making him a potential danger to both himself and his allies. This becomes more pronounced when Yoichi is directly confronted by his former master, who has also been brought to the alternate world as a Drifter, and possibly even as an End.
Yoichi is one of the main characters of Drifters, he is an archer who helps Toyohisa Shimazu and the Elves, Yoichi has some medical knowledge as he has been the one who bandaged up Toyohisa twice, and even feeds him after Toyohisa is injured in the battle against Hijikata Toshizo.
